Lets get reading ready!!

I was in the mood for setting up a reading nook (area) for my boys to relax and enjoy the adventures of reading.  Even though my youngest is 3 and can't read yet he still reads and makes up the story as he goes. However my 8 year old will understand the concept more but both will enjoy just the same. 

These are my favourite ideas for reading nooks for both small and large spaces.  You can get some great inspiration here.

Flower time at Sydney markets

Today I tottled off to the Sydney flower markets to peruse the abundant and colourful choices on display. I was there for a client that I'm designing the floral displays at their wedding.

The colour chosen for the wedding is royal blue, so I couldn't believe my luck when I found blue roses, the amazing part was that they are hand dyed. I had no idea you could do that. Not only that but I was told that one of the  Vendors there had rainbow roses... Unreal! Unfortunately I couldn't find them, when go back to make the purchases I go on the hunt for you, and me

This might be old news for some but this is news for me. So this is some of the inspiration I got from my little adventure...

Pop goes the colour!

As my first mini project is underway (piccys up soon) I thought I would share the love with this poppy outdoor space. repetition  and balance is key here with little bursts of colour for fun.

Green with Envy

I was never a fan of green till my eldest liked the colour... but now I absolutely adore it. There are so many different shades of green to chose from and lime green is one of the season shades. When I created this mood board I elected that bold wall paper would be the feature and with the organic fixtures it also gives an earthy/nature setting. To balance the darker chocolate cupboard I've opted for simple black photo frames. The metal floor lamp and stool add an industrial feel.

TIP - Mix patterns by pairing them with similar colours.

Some very exciting news!!

Summer lovin bed Linen

I absolutely love this bed linen from Deco Linen, I just had to get them myself. I adore the playful use of colour in both. As they both have that citrus colour I was able to get one set of euro pillow covers to match either!!! Awesome.

I can just imagine my boys jumping on the bed and snuggling on a lazy Sunday morning.... Bliss

I was going to give these biscuit tins I picked up from woolies as gifts, but loved them too much to let them go. They'll make a great display grouped with a few coastal accents... Love it!
